The Village Advocates of Sacramento

Founders Charles & Allegra Taylor have worked with youth, young adults and their families for over 60 years. Charles  was a coach for 45 years.  He coached all of our children.  He coached in Vallejo CA & here in Sacramento CA.

Charles coached baseball, football basketball, & soccer.  Charles is also a former pitcher for the San Diego Padres.

Allegra volunteered with Girl Scouts of America, Youth Ministry at Calvary Christian Center, Missionetts & Youth Ministry at Capital Christian Center, Team Mom for sports, & Youth Drill Team Instructor.  She has been involved in youth and family advocacy for over 30 years.

Allegra  is the visionary for The Village.  After the loss of her father & experiencing 2nd hand trauma from the numerous murders of youth and young adults in our community, the racial discord on school campuses, it was time to get our boots on the ground again.  We became a member of Sacramento Act in 2016.  As an active advocate for community change and member of the Sac Act Live Free advocacy group; The vision for The Village was birthed.

We later became board members of BYLP where we worked together with other parents, advocates, and staff of EGUSD to change policy in the district.

We are a grass roots organization committed to making and difference in the lives of youth and families in need of support.  We believe it takes a whole village to raise a child and together we are that village.

We are here to bridge the gap, to support, to encourage, to empower, and to challenge our youth & families to fear not, because the have an entire village to stand with them.

In Memory of Cynthia Waters former Youth Advocate in San Francisco CA.  Allegra followed the footsteps of he mother, advocacy & family support in SF. Know to many as “Jo” One of the Potrero Hill Community Moms.
